Uneven Roof Sheathing

While visiting a house i have under construction i noticed some imperfections in the roofing.

I haven t talked to the builder yet since i jsut saw this friday evening so i don t know what their response will be but i thought i would put it out there to see what other think. Shading pattern is visible on an asphalt shingle roof. A roof over or re roof is not recommended because it will certainly lead to buckling. What are the causes of an uneven exterior roof.

Install osb textured side up avoid installing osb with the textured side down. Uneven roof sheathing causing visible irregularities in the roof surface. Roof trusses ridges or rafters have bowed. Roofing nails are exposed.

The sun was low so it was hitting the roof at a sharp angle which tends to accentuate these things more than when the sun is overhead. Curved or uneven roof trusses will cause osb roof sheathing to warp or buckle under roof coverings. Sometimes new shingles are applied directly on top of old uneven shingles. Tabs on asphalt shingles are not lined up.
