In a tepui tent you are off the ground meaning you are a harder meal to get to for a bear and less. The small footprint of the ayer 2 also makes it easier to find a suitable place to camp. The tepui ayer 2 is a well built 2 man rooftop tent that s small and light enough to be mounted on small vehicles such as a hatchback or a small suv.

First disregard the three very negative reviews they have nothing to do with this tent or the seller backcountry which has over 11k reviews on amazon and no i did not receive anything from them but if there reading this lol but i did talk to them on a shipping issue they were easy to deal with and took care of business. Apparently those were purchased from third party vendors since removed for less than 100 on products weighing less than 20 pounds. 5 0 out of 5 stars a great alternative to a camper.

My tepui ayer has been 100 weatherproof. Have a sound full and comfortable sleep as it includes high density 2 1 2 inch foam mattress. The tent is ready to protect you from the heaviest rain and stiff winds. With its lower profile tepui s ayer 2 is less debilitating in terms of car handling and gas mileage.

Taking into consideration the kind of harsh environment that we exposed the ayer to for over two years i rate the durability of the tepui as excellent. Roof top tenting is more comfortable than ground tenting.
